Plot – Darby Shaw has found refuge in a hotel room after witnessing two murders in a week. By now her only certainty is that she's still alive, but the woman feels the murderers are still chasing her, so Darby decides to reveal a stranger, a reporter called Gray Grantham, her theories about the murders. Two Supreme Court judges have been killed and even if she's still a law student she gives the reporter a very detailed brief about the case. Shaw hopes Grantham realizes she's not joking and, perhaps, both will survive.
