Plot – Christine Daee is a great vocalist, but up to now she has only been able to get a role as a ballerina at the Opera House. Christine has a mysterious “Angel of Music” on her side, a disfigured composer that lives in the theater's dungeon and that terrifies the company's singers and dancers, who think of him as a phantom. Christine's chance arrives when the primadonna Carlotta abandons rehearsal: she gets the leading role and on opening night she has a great success. Even the rich theater owner, the Viscount of Chagny, is charmed by her performance. The two fall in love, but their love affair triggers the rage of the fiercely jealous Phantom, who decides to kidnap the beautiful singer and imprisons her in the dungeon, keeping her for himself forever.
