Plot – Sean Thornton, an Irish American, had a brilliant career as a boxer, but one day he unintentionally caused the death of an opponent and this caused him to leave the ring forever. Rich and back in his hometown in Ireland, he now plans to get married and settle down. Sean buys the house which the overbearing and quarrelsome Will Danaher had also set his sights on and he falls for Danaher's sister, Mary Kate. Danaher, out of spite, denies consent to the marriage, but some friends of Sean cause the bully to give in by resorting to a trick which he knows nothing about.
