“The Trip to Bountiful” quotes
(1985)Plot – Carrie Watts has a difficult relationship with her son Ludle and her daughter-in-law Jessie Mae. The old lady feels marginalized and exploited. During a sleepless night, she remembers her happy past and the next day she decides to revisit the places where she used to live long ago. After a long journey, Carrie reaches Bountiful, the town of her nostalgic memories, but she finds it changed: the streets are deserted and the houses are abandoned. Saddened, Carrie comes back home. Ludle is sorry for her mother and defends her against Jessie Mae. Finally Carrie can live better her last days.
