Plot – After months without progress in the investigations of the murder of his daughter, Mildred Hayes decides to take the situation in her hands and disappointed in the indolent local police forces. The furious mother of the victim rents three large billboards on the road that leads to the city, and on them places controversial messages addressed to police chief William Willoughby. The sheriff of Ebbing tries to make the woman think, but once the short-tempered and immature vice sheriff Dixon is also involved, Mildred's personal crusade turns into a ruthless battle.
