“Titanic” quotes

(1997)
Plot – The ocean liner Titanic - which is considered a little gem of technology and advertised as 'unsinkable' - is the most luxurious cruise ship ever built. 10 April, 1912 it sets sail from England with more than 1,500 passengers aboard for its maiden voyage. Travelers, as custom required, are arranged in three classes which reflect social differences. But fate cancels these differences between Rose DeWitt Bukater, who represents the American upper middle class, chocked by the weight of the company’s roles and obligations, and Jack Dawson, a young designer, free and independent, passenger of the third-class. Rose is betrothed to Cal Hockley, heir to great fortunes, marriage upon which Rose’s mother counts on to revive their precarious economic situation. Contrasts are strong, the acquaintance of Jack arouses in Rose a new way of living to which she will not give up. During the night between 14 and 15 April, Titanic collides against an iceberg and begins to take on water. Little by little, the huge ship breaks in two, and passengers panic seeking refuge on the boats. There is not enough room for everyone so many drown, including Jack. 85 years later, a treasure hunter wants to reconstruct those events and is surprised to know he can use Rose’s testimony, who followed the stages of the research on TV.
