Plot – The movie tells about two brothers, Tom and Desmond Spellacy, and is set in Hollywood after World War II. Desmond is an ambitious Monsignor, a winner, a man who loves power and knows how to use it. Tom is a tough and ruthless policeman, who collects bribes from a brothel and is friend of the madam but who does not hesitate to put her in prison to save himself. Tom is assigned to investigate the tragic death of the prostitute Loris, murdered and cut in two, and it is he who has to tell his Monsignor brother that the main suspects are his friends.
