Plot – Louden Swain is an eighteen-year-old California high school student who aims to beat Shute, the Washington arrogant and presumptuous wrestling champion. To face him, Louden must slim down a lot, so he goes on a strict diet, he abstains from any kind of abuse, he dedicates to mad workouts which he conduct with tenacity to the limits of obsession under the indulgent but doubtful eyes of his divorced father, of his manager's and of Carla's eyes, a temporary guest at his house. Louden is finally able to beat Shute and to win Carla's love.
