Plot – Katharine Parker is an ambitious and brilliant businesswoman of a well-established company on the New York stock exchange. Apparently, Katharine is very kind to her secretary Tess McGill, a young woman from a modest background but also determined to improve her position, always full of new projects and ideas. It seems therefore almost natural that, when Katharine gets stuck in Europe due to an injury on the ski slopes, it is her resourceful secretary that replaces her in the office. Obviously, without saying anything to anyone. Tess finds herself having to close a major deal - the acquisition of a local radio station - and therefore asks for the help of the experienced and charming manager Jack Trainer, Katharine's lover and unaware of Tess' true position. The deal proceeds and the two, working side by side, obviously end up falling in love, but things take a wrong turn for Tess when Katharine comes home and finds out everything, trying to disrupt her secretary's work in any way she can.
